Consider the Visual

So...I got a photoblog now. Click here to check it out. I have to figure out a way to have it listed on this page. We'll figure it out somehow.

Had to work on Paula's computer today. Her kids managed to get at least 7 trojans on it. At least 17 corrupted files and a browser hijacker. The way the damn thing works is, it keeps writing restore's to the restore file. No matter how much space you free up, it keeps filling it with restore files. So I gave up and came home to get info on the net. I'll give it another run tomorrow. She got 2 machines for her kids going to school too. I'll probably have to get those ready for use too.

So...I put up some pics of us and a few friends. I'll add some more later.

Onward...

Didn't do much yesterday. Gettin' lots of tv watchin' in tho.

Had an appointment to get the Pacifica serviced today. Had to get the a/c controller replaced. Evidentally, it's a problem in a lot of them. I pulled up behind my inlaws halfway over the mountain, that was fun. Anyway, it seems that the dual temp control finally works...yippee!

Doctor's appointment in the afternoon. Always fun to see Dr. Guiser. He's a blast. Ran a few errands and headed back to the homestead.

Deb got home late so we didn't get to the grocery store until 9 or so. Finally back home around 11 and I got to write this. My exciting life. :)

2 for 1

Saturday was a wash. My brother never showed up. Talked to my niece Karen on Sunday and she said he had to sleep. We just hung out, made burgers on the grill and watched the tube.

A friend hooked me up with MSN Messenger. It's very fast, especially if both people are on cable. I'll be using it more often.

Sunday we went over to the inlaws for lunch. After that we headed down to Millerstown to visit my wife's aunt and uncle. They're all planning a vacation up north later in the month. I still don't know if I can go or not. I will head back to work if I can, but I may go up if i'm still off. Came back up the road and had dinner. I started typing this up and my niece Darlene gave me a call.

Now I'm back and finished, so there.

BTW...whoever made the comment about "Farenheit 911" being a "trash" movie. Well, it looks like it's the number one movie in the nation this week. This one made more in one weekend than the last one did in it's entire run.

You know what this means, right? When the Republicans are trying to win back the White House in four years, there will be a documentary released about Kerry. They're probably just pissed they didn't think of it in 96. :)

Lazy, Hazy Days

I didn't do crap today...watched tv, that's about it. Chrissy and Mike are out somewhere, after trying on their swim masks and snorkels (too tight). Deb and I went out to eat, then stopped in on the inlaws.

I wanna let everybody know that there's a new virus out there that affects Microsoft IE. Your best defense is to get a new browser. I hear good things about Firefox from Mozilla. I've been using MyIE2 on my laptop for a few months now and I really like it. Netscape or Opera can work too.

We had wanted to go see "Fahrenheit 911" today, but it's only showing at one theatre in Harrisburg and that place only holds 115 people. I heard an industry type say that it might gross 10 mil. I thought, geez, that movie could do 20 easily. Then I found out that it only opens on 900 screens. Oh well, DVD's are there for a reason.

My brother is supposed to visit tomorrow, we'll see.

Keep comin back...

Roger Phico...Over and Out.

A few months ago I had to go to Mechanicsburg. Heading in, right past the Sheetz on the Carlisle Pike, there is a HUGE office building. I see a sign that they are liquidating all of the office furniture in this place. So I make a note to go.

Today was the day. We headed out and got there a few minutes after they had started. I wanted to get a desk for the office i'm doing. I want a 3 sided workstation setup. They had several "executive" setups. I saw one I wanted and figured that i'd bid on it. They were nice so I thought I may go $400. Well...the bidding started at 5 and ended at $3800.

I had been there 3 hours by this time and I was starting to wind down. We got a few kitchen items earlier, so we called it a day.

We did wind up walking thru the whole building. All I can say is, no wonder they're liquidating. Everything...EVERYTHING...was done in dark woods. Cherry, Mahogany. A beautiful conference room. Marble bar. Executive dining room. You get the idea.

Anyway, it's early evening. Deb and Chrissy are shopping in Lewistown. I'm telling you about my day. And the cat, of course, is sleeping.

Let my people go....ANYWHERE!!!!

Finally the driving ban is lifted. Made a few phone calls today, then headed into town to run a few errands. Beautiful 80 degree day. Got some drugs and dropped off a few invoices.

Hope to be starting the cardiac rehab next week. I'll keep ya posted.

Woozy

I got up and down quickly about 3 times in 5 minutes. It was around 9 or so. And I got light headed, and sweaty, and all sorts a' heart problem symptomy. After I laid down a little I realized that all I had to eat today was a bowl of cereal and a banana.

So, I caught hell from the Mrs. and then I felt all better.

BTW....anybody want 3 tix to see Blue Oyster Cult this Saturday in Johnstown?? Let me know....quick!

What about sex?

Slept late today...been pretty tired. Got a phone call from a "Wellness Co-Ordinator" from Blue Cross. She's asking me all sorts of questions about medication, my treatment, etc. Then we get to this little tidbit...

Co-ordinator: So...what about sex?

Me: Well, If you're offering...

Co-ordinator: ...Can you do two flights at a time or just one...

Me: Oh, you said STEPS. :)

Got some more emails to send, gonna pretty much chill tonite.

Workin on it...

I talked to Margaret this morning and I think I'm getting a better handle on this recovery thing. When you cut your arm you have pain...then you can see the mark go away as the pain gets less and less. You have a visual gauge of what's going on.

With this, you have pain (man, do you have pain) :). Then you really don't have any pain, or any effects from it. UNTIL you start to do stuff. Then it starts to kick in, and that's very weird. Your head says "but...I felt ok till I started to do something". Very frustrating. I'm not trying to move mountains, but I am realizing that my limits are much lower than I think they are.

emails today!!

Just hangin'

I did a whole lotta nothin' today. The inlaws and Chrissy's boyfriend were up for lunch. I had some leg pain so I took some Vicodin and had a nice big NAP!!!! We went out for some ice cream later and then hung out and watched tv.

I wanna start another thread with some of my photo stuff soon....keep checkin' in. :)

...and you shall be my Squishy....

Great dinner...Chicken Parm and Spaghetti with the copyrighted Angelo's salad. Went out to Wally World to get groceries and a few odds and ends.

This heart thing is kinda strange. Basically, I feel really good. But, when I do any kind of physical activity, I feel weak after a short time. I know I have to build up some stamina, but it's just really strange.

The kids rented movies, so when we got home we watched Finding Nemo and then Kill Bill. Both of which had very funny moments...if you find fountains of blood funny.

Looks like the email is gonna have to wait for a day or so. At least they'll be something to read when people get here.

Saturday Stuff

Deb, Chrissy and the inlaws went to Harrisburg today to stock up on supplies for the big fishing trip. They met up with Chrissy's boyfriend, Mike, at Gander Mountain. I get to hang out at home. (sniff) :)

Looks like the kids wanna take us out to eat tonite for Father's Day. A place in our area called Angelo's. They have the best salads on the planet, so that's a plus. My first trip to a real restaurant since the "coronary event".

Should be interesting.

I hope to get to all the email tonite that people have sent all week and tell them about this place so I can start getting some hits and comments. Depends on how I feel after the "Big Excursion"

My wife and daughter, who will now hate me because I posted a pic of them. Taken last year at BWI. Posted by Hello

Not just me whining.

I didn't create this just to bitch about my current health condition. I know I can post pics and other stuff. I'll put in lots of comments on music and politics and fun stuff like that too.

Keep comin back!

Problems Part 2

Lo, the wonders of modern medicine. Took some nitro and it made things a lot better, but not 100 percent. Called the cardio nurses who told me to call the cardio doctor. The doc told me to call my GP because "they've already checked the heart so it must be neurological, so call your dr.".

I'm not trying to be a big weenie, but the big cardiac event does kinda wake you up. I guess i'm more aware of stuff going on and my panic threshold has lowered considerably.

Gotta call the doc.

Problems

I've got numbness in my fingers and hands. It's a sign of angina, but it could always be a problem with medication. I took some nitro and i'm taking it easy. I REALLY don't want to go to the ferkin hospital again. I'm not really recovered from being a pin cushion the last time I was there. I'll let you know what's up when I figure it out.

Life changing stuff this week.

I had a heart attack on June 7th. Major pressure in the chest, so I get an ambulance ride to Lewistown Hospital. After 2 days they finally figure out that I had a heart attack and they really can't do anything about it. They send me to Harrisburg Hospital where they do a cardiac cath. I had one of these before and it was painless, but on this one they pinched a nerve in my leg against the vein. Hurt like hell for about 4 hours until they can finally pull the pipe outta my leg. I got a stent and balloon for my trouble. Reduced the blockage to 0. Stayed for two days and came home on Friday the 11th.

Recuperating at home, getting a little winded, everything seemed fine. Had tingly fingers (say that 3 times) and stiff neck on Monday the 14th. So, Back to Lewistown. This time it only takes them a day to realize they can't do anything. Back down to Harrisburg for ANOTHER cath. It's kinda cool cause they are now sure that EVERYTHING is open. So another overnite stay there and I'm back home. Things seem to be going ok now.

Enjoying the new Tivo (my birthday gift) and right now watching a recent episode of the screensavers.

I'll pop on here and try to write interesting things every few days.
